Tippecanoe and Josh too
By Joshua R. LeBlanc • Oct 7th, 2007 • Category: BlogYesterday my wife and I went canoeing on the Ouiska Chitto Creek in Allen Parish, LA. This is my second time canoeing but the first time I went canoeing was part of a college project in Turtle Cove. The Ouiska Chitto (or as some call it the Whiskey Chitto because Ouiska and Whiskey sound very similar) is a beautiful creek. It is very clear because the creek is formed by underground springs in Northern Louisiana. This particular canoeing trip was about 10 miles in length and I only managed to clip the Canoe once, with me falling out and my wife hanging on for dear life. Needless to say I’m sore and worn out completely and someone sunburnt in places that I missed with the sunscreen but for the most part I had an excellent time. It was a great team building exercise for my wife and I. After we got past the part of blaming each other everytime we hit a log and learned to work together it was really amazing. I now plan on doing this at least a couple of times a year.
